Beef Pasties (Kathi Hill)
Crust: 1½ c. flour, ¾ t. salt, ¼ c. + 2 t. vegetable shortening, 1 egg & water Mix together. Divide into 6 balls. Roll balls on lightly floured board. Roll balls between sheets of waxed paper forming 8" circles. Filling:¾ lb. ground beef, browned; 2 c. diced potatoes; ¾ c. diced carrots; ¾ c. chopped onions; 1 t. salt; ¼ t. pepper; 2 T. water Place 1 c. on each circle. Seal edges with fork. Prick top. Bake @ 350° for 45 minutes or until browned. |
