Swiss Steak (Becky Essig)
1½ lbs. steak
1 t. salt; ½ t. pepper 2 T. shortening 1 16 oz. can tomatoes 3 lg. onions, sliced 1 stalk celery, diced; 1 garlic clove 1 T. meat sauce Combine flour, salt & pepper and pound into meat. Over medium heat, in hot shortening, brown steak. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 2 hours. |
