Bran Muffins (Framingham Relief Society)

Mix together & cool: 2 c. bran buds; 2 c. boiling water
Cream & add: 1 c. shortening; 2½ c. sugar
Add: 4 eggs; 1 qt. buttermilk
Add: 5 c. flour; 5 t. soda; 1½ t. salt
Add: 4 c. 100% bran
Baked in greased muffin tins @ 375° for 20 minutes.
