Baked Beans (Heather Hill)
1/2 lb. bacon, 3 lb gr. beef, 3 c. finely chopped onions, 1 c. finely chopped celery, 2 beef bouillon cubes, 2/3 cup boiling water, 1½ minced garlic cloves, 1½ c. catsup, 3 T. mustard, 1½ t. salt, ½ t. pepper, 2 cans (29 oz. each) molasses-style baked beans
Heat oven to 375. Fry bacon until crisp, set aside. Drain fat from pan. In same pan, cook and stir ground beef, onion and celery until meat is brown and onion is tender. Dissolve bouillon cubes in mixture. Cover & bake 1 hr 15 minutes. Crumble bacon, sprinkle over beans.
